Herringbone Texture Knitting

I am currently knitting a patchwork blanket and using a variety of textures for the squares.

This Herringbone Texture would have to be my favourite so far and isn't too tricky for beginners, like myself.

Here's how:

K=knit
P=purl
sts= stitches

Cast on a mulitpe of 16 stiches +1

1st Row (right side): (K2, p2) twice,  k1, p2, k2, p2, *k3, p2, k2, p2, k1, p2, k2, p2; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2

2nd Row: P1, *k2, p2, k2, p3, k2, p2, k2, p1; rep from * to end

3rd Row: K1, *p1, k2, p2, k5, p2, k2, p1, k1, ; rep from * to end

4th Row: P3, k2, p2, k1, p1, k1, p2, k2, *p5, k2, p2, k1, p1, k1, p2, k2; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3

Rep these 4 rows
